Executive Director

Esther Obaikol is the Executive Director of the Uganda Land Alliance. She’s charged among others with the following duties: Manages the implementation of ULA core business; provides strategic vision to staff and partners; provides ongoing review and development of ULA strategy, ensures all projects are monitored, works closely with the BoD to ensure best practices in all aspects of project cycle management.

Programme Officer-Legal Empowerment

Hellen Edimu is the Programme Officer in charge of Legal Empowerment Among other duties, she provides leadership to the women’s land rights empowerment programme; and the minority rights empowerment programme. Hellen also handles land rights advocacy, legal aid and education, access to justice project, court representation and reviewing of activity reports of land rights centres.

Programme Officer-Land Observatory

Proscovia Nakanjako works under the Knowledge Management Department and is in charge of the Land Observatory programme. Among other duties, Proscovia handles Legal Reform; Monitors land sector performance, manages case law analysis and development, advocacy on public information and land reporting initiatives

Finance & Admin Officer

Robert Nyeko is the Finance& Admin Officer under the Finance and Administration department. He is charged with the following duties among others: preparing, recording and keeping books of accounts, maintaining accounting software, supervising internal and external audit, and ensuring internal controls.

Programme Officer- Land Use

John Mwebe is a Programme Officer under the Knowledge Management Department in charge of Land Use His duties include; mapping information for sustainable land use, food security and changing land use, sustainable land management in arid and dry lands, urban planning, housing and informal settlements, and applied land use for rural areas

Sam Tumugarukire works under the Knowledge Management Department as a Programme Officer in charge of Research. Among other duties include: developing the land research series, synthesizing information for advocacy, action research and land sector budget monitoring

Community Liaison Officer

Vincent is in charge of among others, taking the lead in the operationalization of the community awareness programme; supporting the institutionalization of structures for tenure security; Undertaking media campaigns towards collective action land grabbing; managing  documentations and lessons learnt; facilitating evidence based advocacy and policy influence at the district and national level; and promotion and backstopping the design of pilot activities and models in collective action towards tenure security projects and improving relevant strategies for effective replication and scaling up the programme….
